A framed screen-printed cotton textile reproducing Grayson Perry's Reclining Artist, his richly detailed 2017 self-portrait.
The monochrome composition depicts a reclining nude figure surrounded by the extraordinary clutter of an artist's studio. Books, bicycles, domestic objects, patterned fabrics and animals crowd the scene, creating a work full of visual detail, humour and personal references.
This textile design was produced as an exhibition tea towel in connection with Grayson Perry: Smash Hits, the 2023 retrospective at the National Galleries of Scotland. Presented here in a simple black frame, the composition becomes a striking piece of contemporary wall art.
